About Amala Paul: Amala Paul is an Indian film actress, who works in the South Indian film industries. After appearing in supporting roles in the Malayalam film Neelathamara and Veerasekaran in Tamil, she received critical acclaim for the portrayal of a controversial character in the film, Sindhu Samaveli. Despite the failure of that film, Amala became noted after playing the title role in Mynaa, receiving critical acclaim for her work

Beginning Life: Amala Paul started her career as a model just after finish her school. After Tamil movie directors got her to do some small roles in a few low budget Tamil movies. Vikadakavi was her debut movie in Tamil. The next movie Sindhu Samaveli in 2010 made her known to the Tamil audience, mainly for the controversial subject of the movie. Amala, however, later stated that she regretted for accepting such roles.

Luckily, she stamped her mark in the Tamil industry as a performer in the movie Myna directed by Prabhu Solomon. This movie was a big success and her innocent beauty and great acting skills were highly acclaimed by the audience as well as the critics. The Super Stars of the Tamil film industry Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan praised her for the commendable performance in the movie. Amala Paul received several awards for her excellent piece of work in Myna. Amala Paul then went on to work in Samy's controversial Sindhu Samaveli (2010), portraying the role of Sundari, who has an illegal relationship with her father-in-law. The director of the film had previously drawn criticism for his depictions of illegal romances as well for assaulting his previous lead actress in a film, but Amala played down the issue citing that she had no problem with the director. However her success was marred with extreme reactions from the public, with Amala claiming she received death threats from anonymous callers and was publicly scolded by women at a cinema hall in Chennai. Myna film had garnered much anticipation prior to release, with noted distributors Udhayanidhi Stalin and Kalpathi S. Aghoram purchasing the rights of the film after being impressed with it. Amala played the village belle Mynaa, attaining unanimous praise from critics for her portrayal; a critic labelled her work as "outstanding" and that she put in a "riveting performance", while other reviews claimed she had "immense talent" and scores in "every instance" in the title role. Following her success in this movie, she worked for several films in Tamil including Muppozhudhum un karpanaigal with Adharvaa, Deiva Thirumagal with Vikram in the lead role, Vettai opposite Arya, Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi with Siddharth and a few Malayalam movies Aakashathinte Niram, Diamond Necklace and Run Baby Run. She also became a popular actress in the Tollywood through movies like Nirantharam Nee Oohalo, Bhale Tammudu, Naayakand iddha ammayiltho.
