Dhaggubati Superior known as Rana, is an Indian film actor, producer, visual
effects co-ordinator, and photographer known for his works in Telugu cinema and
Bollywood. He is the son of popular producer D. Suresh Babu, the grandson of D.
Ramanaidu and the his of actor Venkatesh. He is nephew of Nagarjuna Akkineni,
and his cousin is also a movie star known as Naga Chaitanya.
Begining Career:Rana
and co-star Richa Gangopadhyay made his
film debut with Leader written and directed by Sekhar Kammula, which the theaters
on 19th February 2010. He made his Bollywood debut with the Hindi film Dum
Maaro Dum which released on 22 April 2011. He has Debut Producer- Bommalata
2004.
In 2006,A visual effects in he
Mahesh Babu movie Sainikudu won the State Nandi award for special effects. The
Times of India called it a "dashing debut"and voted 'The Most
Promising Newcomer of Rana in 2011 .He
was listed at number 20, on the Times of India's Most Desirable Men for the
year 2011. Next, in 2012 polling, The
Times of India conducted by he was voted
as 10th most desirable man in India.
Next
in 2011 Puri Jaganath directed by
he played a professional killer in the film Nenu Naa Rakshasi, which became a
box office hit. He next starred in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum directed by Krish
which became a box office success.He made his debut in Tamil through Ajith
Kumar's Aarambam.In 2013 he secured two big budget projects Gunasekhar's
Rudhramadevi and S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali in which he is the lead
antagonist.Rana did a cameo role in Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.The
movie Bahubali was released worldwide in July and achieved huge success across
the worldwide. Rana played the role " Bhallala deva" the cousin of
the lead role Bahubali and this role with negative shades had received
unpredicted, appreciations from the critics. The movie collected around 500+
crores world wide and rise the highest grosser among the south Indian movies so
far.
